Own Your Coaching ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website ownyourcoaching.com and provides self-coaching software: nutrition and training tools you run yourself. There are no coaches, and no person reviews or supervises your plan.
We understand that when you share personal information with us, especially anything related to your health, fitness, or wellness journey, you are placing real trust in us. We take that seriously.
This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we protect it, and what rights you have. We have written it in plain language because you deserve to actually understand it.
What We Collect
Information you give us directly
- Email address when you subscribe to our newsletter or contact us
- Name if you provide it
- Account details — your email and password, held by our authentication provider. We never see your password.
- Health and fitness information you enter into the app: height, weight and measurements over time, your goal and direction, activity level, allergies and foods you leave out, the meals and workouts you log, water, steps, sleep, mood and energy, cardio, and your weekly check-ins
- Menstrual cycle information, if you choose to use period tracking. This is optional, you can turn it off, and you can delete it.
- Progress photos, if you choose to upload them. They are stored privately and are only ever shown back to you.
- Billing information — your subscription status and history. Card details go straight to Stripe and we never receive the full number.
- Messages and correspondence when you email us or reply to our emails
Information collected automatically
- Usage data through Google Analytics (pages visited, time on site, general location by country/region)
- Device information such as browser type and screen size, used to improve the website experience
A note about your calorie calculator results
When you use our free calorie calculator, your inputs (weight, height, activity level) are processed in your browser. We do not store these calculations on our servers or associate them with your identity.
Your Health Information
As a health and fitness coaching business, we recognize that some of the information you share with us is personal and sensitive. This includes your weight, body measurements, health goals, dietary preferences, medical conditions you mention, and your emotional relationship with food and fitness.
Our commitments regarding your health information:
- 1.We will never sell your health information. Period.
- 2.We will never share your personal health details publicly or with third parties for marketing purposes.
- 3.Your health information is yours. Nobody at Own Your Coaching reads your logs, weights, measurements or photos except where it is genuinely needed to fix a fault you have reported or to meet a legal obligation.
- 4.We only use your health information to provide you with better, personalized guidance.
- 5.You can request deletion of all your health information at any time.
How We Use Your Information
We do not use your information for targeted advertising. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not sell or rent your information to anyone, for any reason, ever.
Newsletter
When you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address so we can send you helpful content. That is it.
- We send you tips, recipes, and product news
- We will never spam you or share your email with other companies
- Every email includes an unsubscribe link. One click and you are off the list immediately.

Third-Party Services
We use a small number of trusted services to run Own Your Coaching. Each has its own privacy practices, and we only share the minimum information necessary.
Vercel
Website hosting. Processes standard web request data (IP address, browser info) to serve the site. Privacy policy
Supabase
Database. Stores newsletter subscriber emails and correspondence securely. Privacy policy
Resend
Email delivery. Sends our newsletter and transactional emails from hello@ownyourcoaching.com. Privacy policy
Google Analytics
Website analytics. Collects anonymized usage data to help us understand how visitors use the site. We do not enable advertising features or user-level tracking. Privacy policy
Stripe (payments)
Your subscription is billed through Stripe. Stripe handles your card details directly, and we never receive or store your full card number. We keep a record of your subscription status, the last four digits and card brand, and your billing history. Privacy policy
Open Food Facts (barcode lookups)
When you scan a barcode, we send that barcode number to Open Food Facts to look the product up. We do not send your name, your email, or anything about you with it. Privacy policy
Amazon (grocery links)
Your grocery list can link to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. Following a link takes you to Amazon, where their privacy policy and cookies apply, not ours. We are not told what you buy — only, in aggregate, that a purchase was made through one of our links.
Cookies
Our website uses a small number of cookies:
- Google Analytics cookies to understand site usage in aggregate
- Essential cookies that keep the website functioning properly
We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time, though some website features may not work as expected.
Data Security
We protect your information using industry-standard security measures:
- All data transmitted to and from our website is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
- Our database is hosted on Supabase with row-level security and encrypted storage
- Access to personal data is limited to the small number of staff who need it to run the service
- We regularly review our security practices
No system is 100% secure. If we ever become aware of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you promptly.
Data Retention
Newsletter subscribers: We keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed. When you unsubscribe, we remove your email from our active mailing list. We may retain a record of the unsubscribe request to ensure we do not accidentally re-subscribe you.
Coaching correspondence: We retain messages and health information shared through coaching for as long as needed to provide you with continuity of care. You can request deletion at any time.
Analytics data: Google Analytics data is retained according to Google's standard retention settings (14 months) and is not linked to your identity.

Regardless of where you live, we believe you should have control over your personal information. You have the right to:
For European residents (GDPR)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, object to processing, and request data portability. Our legal basis for processing your data is your consent (for newsletter subscriptions) and legitimate interest (for providing coaching services you have requested). For California residents (CCPA)
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. Children's Privacy
Own Your Coaching is designed for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
If we make significant changes to this privacy policy, we will notify our newsletter subscribers by email and update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
